Hi,
This question is paining me.
What is your database size?
My answer was: calculate datafile (.dbf file) + redolog file + control file this is the database size.
He not satisfied with my answer.
He wants to know my current production oracle database size. The application module HRMS/Payroll is running in 11i so what is your database size?
I said that I do not calculate every day, only increase the size if required.
Could you tell me what is the answer?
Thanks,
Jo. |

Jo,
You can use the below for calculating the total DB size:
1. Datafiles
2. Tempfiles
3. Control files
4. Redolog files
I think you left out tempfiles.
Check this blog for more info.
HTH,
Regards,
Praveen |

Hi,
Thank you for the reply.
Even if we said these answers, still they asking .....
What is your database size? You don't know your database size?
And waiting for answer and looking to our eyes like NASA scientist!
This question mostly asking only south Indians Tamil and Andhra, What wrong with them? Are they fooling us? Or is there any solid answer for this question? Or do we calculate our database every minute and take the status report and keep in our pocket and show to them?
Regards,
Jo |
